AR PANCHAL DESIGN STUDIO

From the time Avani Panchal picked up a paintbrush at the age of three, Art and Avani were a predestined pairing. A flair for fashion, an appreciative eye for architecture, and an abiding passion for everything design-related resulted in an inevitable gravitation toward interior design.

Avani’s designs are imaginative and conceptual, but supported by a detail-oriented and systematic approach that results in design that is as functional as it is edgy. She approaches interior spaces with a playful, modern eye underscored by a rigorous adherence to the principles of design. Avani’s belief is that concepts should never be imposed upon a client; rather, she believes that design should serve as a narrative that reflects a client’s personality, style, and history.

Avani earned her Associate of Art degree in Psychology and Art Studio from the University of South Florida. She relocated to Miami in 2006 to study Interior Design at the Miami International University of Art and Design. At MIUAD, Professor Heriberto J. Brito was the guiding force behind Avani’s growing aptitude in lighting, inspiring her to study the integral role that lighting plays in interior design. “Completing interior design projects with materials, colors, and furniture arrangement was exciting, but experimenting with lighting design in interior architectural space was by far more intellectually stimulating,” Avani says.

While training at the prestigious Miami design firm, Michael Wolk Design Associates, Avani began carving out a reputation for bold, innovative design. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design in 2009, Avani was signed by the Lighting Design Company in New York. She set out to create commercial and residential light fixtures that would both stun and blend, working for clients such as the Aria Hotel and The Bellagio in Las Vegas.

In, 2010 she joined the firm Armantrout Architects in Redlands, California, where she focused on commercial projects. A certified ALA lighting specialist, she now consults with clients at Lumens lighting+Living, Sacramento, one of the most highly-regarded lighting companies in the country.

Avani launched AR Panchal Design Studio (ARPDS) in 2014, and has since built up progressive working relationships with clients and advisors in the design field where she is recognized for her minimal, fresh and tailored approach. Her unique design sensibilities are influenced by Miami Chic Neomodernism to New York contemporary loft living to her favorite—Midcentury Modern—but she is faithful to her principle of remaining mindful and respectful of the client’s needs and tastes. By closely studying the essence of inhabitants’ heritage, sense of place and history she creates and shape a space into a distinctive masterpiece.

Simplicity is about subtracting the obvious and adding the meaningful—John Maeda.
